In-Store Tasting: High West Single Barrel (past)
High West Distillery has made a name for themselves as one of the most beloved American craft distilleries and blending houses of the fifteen years. Based in Park City, Utah, this high-altitude Colorado is respected for some outstanding limited releases, like their renowned Campfire, Bourye, and Midwinter Night's Dram. We had the opportunity to pick a barrel with them and it highlights their skill in crafting engaging flavor profiles by way of inspired secondary maturations. One of the few like it on the market, this bourbon was secondarily matured in former Spanish brandy casks. This plays up the fruit notes of the bourbon into a delicious harmony of lemon hard candy and grape juice notes. This pick is so irrefutably tasty its sure to have a wide appeal, alongside the pure originality of the brandy finish.
